This is the default format that Garmin now uses to install the maps. Installing a gmap (Mac OSX) version under WindowsĪn alternative way to install the map under Windows is to use the gmap version. Depending on your windows configuration, you need to right-click install.exe and run as Administrator. You can safely move the map later to another location and run install.exe again to update it in Mapsource's register. Run install.exe to install the map for Mapsource/Basecamp. Unpack this and place the folder to a location of your choice, e.g. Other OFM versions (Germany, Europe, Alps etc) with (dd-mm-yy_pc).zip file Depending on your Windows configuration, you must run setup.exe as administrator. It will automatically install the map in Basecamp or Mapsource, default is the c:\garmin\openstreetmap folder but any other folder is possible.
Run the setup.exe file (the gmapsupp.img is also needed so don't move this file to another place!). Only with this software, you can view the map, make and edit tracks and routes, add waypoints etc and send parts of the map to your Garmin receiver. To use the Openfietsmap on your desktop computer, Garmin's mapbrowser Basecamp or Mapsource is required.
